White Pepper Portraits is the side project of illustrator Bee Johnson. Bee created WPP in 2011 to offer art lovers an affordable alternative to traditional portraiture. She creates bright and imaginative illustrated portraits that push beyond the flatness of a photograph while preserving a likeness. The end result is a portrait that's stylish and graphically stunning -- something you can really feel proud to display!

    What Sets Us Apart

Aside from our clearly defined style, White Pepper's service is unique in that we offer you options for both a hard-copy archival print and a high resolution image file. With the file, you can print the portrait as many times as you like on the surface of your choice, from fine art papers to business cards, websites, coffee mugs, t-shirts, greeting cards...the possibilities are endless!

    Completely Customizable, Perfectly Personal

Communication is key in client relations, and wee understand how important it is to engage you in the portrait process. Once you've added a portrait to your shopping cart, simply visit the How It Works section and download the handy PDF questionnaire, which provides instructions for selecting the best possible reference photos. At this stage, you'll also choose your portrait format (square, rectangular, oval), color scheme, background design elements/motif, and cropping. From the initial consultation to the final draft approval, you'll be in direct contact with us through e-mail or phone. This approach guarantees no last minute surprises -- we want you to love the end result, and we'll make sure you do before we go to print!

    Gifting Made Easy

The bulk of commissions we receive at WPP are for gifts, and it's hardly a surprise! Personalized portraits make fantastic presents for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, holidays, and graduations. With a 1-2 week turnaround time and options for RUSH processing, WPP can be a real saving grace when you've gotten yourself into a serious gifting dilemma.
